Parents forcing me to be friends with jealous sister?

My older sister always starts fights with me. She even asked to come on my first date with my now husband. She’s mean. And says all negative things about me and my life. My problem is my parents keep forcing me to have a relationship with her and I made the choice to leave her alone and set boundaries. Why won’t my parents leave me alone about a sibling that doesn’t like me? We don’t get along! What don’t they understand? How to make them stop talking about this?

Blood does not equal family. You do not have to justify yourself. It's your life and all that negativity and stress will only bring you down. Cut her off and move on. Also, set a boundary with your mom. She needs to stay out of y'alls relationship

Thank you. It’s hard but it’s necessary because my sister I soo mean and combative I’m miserable dealing with her. The forcing us together stresses me out so much.

I feel for you because I went through the same thing with my younger sister. She was toxic, not only to herself, but to those around her, never wanted to better herself, and always played the victim. It was draining dealing with her. And to this day she doesn’t have a job, never graduated high school or got her GED, couch hopping, and asking people for hand outs. So as much as my mother wanted us to get along she is still stuck in the same place while my other sisters and I are moving on

Why did you let her come on your date?

I didn’t! She keeps asking about my love life and at the time she asked and I said no lol

She also keeps trying to force me to go out to bars and drink and clubs too. I’m about to get married and I’m a graduate student. It hurts that she can’t just be my sister and love me for me. I don’t like any of that party stuff.

You can be just different... maybe she thinks she is helping you meet people etc by taking you out
