Would it be wrong or bad idea if I contact one of my old male friends?

We were friends since 2012 continued to be friends till 2018 he had a crush on me in 2014 but anyways we fell off, grew apart or whatever but lately i been wanting to contact him the issue here is he has a girlfriend and i have a boyfriend but they both have male and female friends but my boyfriend is different he is the jealous type but i just want to know about him and possibly be his friend again

Of course its not wrong he is your friend you should contact him its nobody choice who your friends are
