And what did you tell them? I of course want kids more than anything but I still have to go about it my way. My mom never asked but she’s always hinted at it. Her looney ass even told me to snatchup some random off the street. Thankfully I have more class and patience than that. But At least she’s not like the annoying extended family who assume you’re gay if you haven't pushed one out by now. And my dad has some nerve giving input by saying things like “Your younger brothers are already becoming parents before you.” See i’m the type to snapback like “Yea my younger brothers are already ACTING like a parent before you.” He so fckin annoyin. #FeelFreeToList #GivemGrandkids

No, because I did not get married until I was 38. My wife was previously married - twice, so I was her third husband - and she had just turned 44 when we got married in 2001. She had already been a grandmother for 16 months and had a hysterectomy before she was 30, so my becoming a father was out of the question. My 3 step-sons were adults (well, one was 17) and they lived far from us, so I really am just a step-father legally. Anyway, my parents (my father died in 2003) were aware that my wife was not going to have any more kids, so it was never an issue for me. My sister, for reasons only she knows, never had kids either, so my mom is not an actual grandmother. That said, she is living with a man for 16 years now as if they are married. He is a widower and has a daughter, 46, who is like a step-sister to me. She has one daughter, age 16, so she is like my mom's granddaughter and my mom is her only grandmother even though, legally, none of this is true.

I’ve been married for 34 years. On our first date she and I discussed kids and how many we’d like in our futures. We both said four. I was 19 and she was 21. We were engaged seven months later and married a year and a half after that. We waited another 7 years to start our family. A boy was born on my 29th birthday. Two and a half years later my wife had fraternal twins, which run in her family. The twins were. A boy and a girl. We ad planned for four but after twins, we were beat! We didn’t want to take a chance on another set of twins so I went to the urologist and got snipped.

So, no, we didn’t have any pressure to have children because there was never any question that we would.

My kids are now 27, 24 and 24.

It's cute, alright.
I'm sure she would semi-force me to learn pair-dancing like in the old days, just like she did with dad when he was lagging behind.

Actually, I might let my parents teach me the modern foxtrot versions. I do like dancing, but I'm used to improvised solo-dance, you know like at concerts or raves. I'm just sceptical of not going my own rebellious way. But it might the best thing for me.. why not combine what I'm good at and what I am bad at?

Yeah. However, my family is toxic so instead of the, "When will you give us grandchildren," it's, "Wow, how old are you? I'm glad I had you young because you're going to be ___ years old when your kid graduates." This is coming from my mother who had me by accident at 20 and gave me a horrific childhood partly because she was ill-prepared for a child and life in general.

I just shrug it off, because you can't change toxic people. I rather wait until I'm financially stable enough with my fiancé, because children are expensive.

No I have a puppy now he pretty much is my son...
Mum didn't even really want me so I can't see any reason why she'd be interested in children and now my puppy.
Everytime I've asked her to help me out for an hour with him she's pretty much had an excuse.
She needs to go into work (she works from home every other week), she's too tired because she sat up until 3am watching Netflix...

My mum prefers that my life hasn't been progressing because it meant I was needy for her attention and she was able to treat me however...

Told my dad if he wanted grandkids, he could pay for them, raise them, and pay me for all the reconstructive surgeries I'll need to get through the pregnancy.

Asked him how much he thought a child was and showed him a 2010s figure (meaning less inflation) that claimed $250k.

He changed his tune. Even drove me to and from the hospital for my bilateral salpingectomy.

My husband’s mom asked him before we ever decided to have kids. It wasn’t an uncomfortable moment or anything, and he replied that we had not discussed the matter at that point in our marriage. Obviously we have children now and are very happy for that :-)

Most parents do give hints here and there, like parents did when i was 22 years old. At the age of 25! They started asking/telling me that they want a grandchild. I told them (good luck with that) and (you know how babies are made, right?) And when i got married at the age of 28, they kept asking and i always answered (you can order from wish, it might take a long time or maybe send you the wrong kid, but you will get a kid). Me and the wife agreed not to have kids, so we are good here.

Of course. They know they aren't going to live forever. Give them space. At the same time if they won the fucking lottery, or were so successful themselves, they sure as fuck won't give you a dime. The way it's supposed to be. Take your time. However, if you were successful or won the lottery, you would allow them to retire early.
