I’ve been 2 times already to a third world country, however I stay in safe areas and don’t do silly things that put me at risk and my government says it’s safe to travel there. I really like it, I’m learning their language and just love the country. I travelled 2 years ago there solo and met up with my friend who I’ve known for years. He wasn’t so nice to me but he always kept me safe. Now I really want to go again and I’ve spoken to this friend about it. He says he wants to make up for it and show me more places. The only thing is when I break the news to my mom. She’s going to be absolutely furious that I’d go there again with this friend. I live with her and I think she will complain about it for weeks. It’s a trip funded by myself. I am just so excited thinking about going and have a list of places my friend said he'd take me to.
I have since told my mother of my plans and she is furious. She told me that if I go me and her are finished. She hates my friend. She said she will tell all the family what I am doing and won’t hide anything. I am in the process of looking for an apartment to move into within the next couple of days so that I can get away. She said it’s too much for her if I go. I’m not sure what to do:/ any advice would be appreciated

Third world country? Thats the USA -- Far more dangerous ( with masses of legal guns and idiots ) than any " third world " country I know --
What country? Tell her , she is not stopping you , and get some smarts - what an absolute FOOL she is.
Do you care more about having your mother in your life or going on a trip with a stranger/someone you only met a couple times?
That is what it comes down to.
