Would you blame me for just not going to work, because I don't have my car?

I work for a commercial cleaning company. I have to drive to three different places a day. That's not counting driving from home, and back. I work with a severely autistic man. He can be pretty difficult to deal with when there is a bug change in schedule. So anyways, my car is acting up. I think there is a problem with the transmission, because sometimes I can floor it, and it just doesn't speed up, and when it does, it makes a loud like fluttering sound. It sounds like there is a giant bug underneath my hood, and I Have to let off the gas for it to go away. So I'm gonna have to take it into the shop, and it will probably be a week before I get it back. The only way we would get from site to site is to take a cab. That would cost a lot of money, and a lot of time, seeing as we'd have to wait for the cabs. Also i know my co worker would freak out, and I dont wanna have to deal with it. What sucks though is that we are the only people in our area that can clean the sites, or at least until they hire some more people, so our sites wouldn't get cleaned. Would you blame me for just saying we can't come to work because I don't have my care just because I don't want to deal with the problems not having it would create?
