Should I be worried about this guys psychotic comment about a dog?

So, there is this shop in town. They sell stuff like mtg cards. Pokemon cards. Need stuff. I know the owner, because my mom bought a trailer from him, and we all stood there and talked for a couple of hours. He's a really nice guy. Anyways, my town has a little game con eatch year. It's like a mini comic con. So he was selling a bunch of magic cards. We stood there and chatted for a while. Over a year ago, I had a bag full of all my magic cards sitting on the floor in the living room. It was probably $600 worth of stuff. So my brothers shih tzu was staying with us for a couple of days. After my brother took his dog home, I noticed it had pissed, and shat all over my cards, ruining them. I wasn't really mad at the dog, but more at my brother. I never said anything. I just threw them away because they had piss and shit all over them. I told this guy that. With a slight smirk on his face, he said "that's a dead dog right there". I just let out an u comfortable chuckle. I think he was probably joking, because no do should be killed for pissing on a bunch of magic cards. He may just be a psycho. I'm kinda worried because he has a dog, and if he'd kill his dog for pussing on some magic cards, then I can only imagine how he treats the dog on a daily basis. Should I be worried?
