Today a guy asked me that by the way I'm in high school and we'll just call them Alex and Jack.. Jack was talking about how I have a twin sister and he has a class with her then Alex asked him "Is she pretty?" so Jack said "they're twins" I looked up at Alex because I was doing my work like I was supposed to and he looked at me and said "I'm just kidding, I'm just kidding, I'm just kidding okay" then I didn't say anything I just looked back down and did my work again. In my head I kept saying wtf is that supposed to mean? is he calling me ugly? yeah I know my sister is pretty but sometimes I feel ugly and then sometimes I feel pretty so I just kinda felt sad and bad about myself...

It is an indirect complement towards you. He probably doesn't feel comfortable saying that you are attractive, but the way he phrased it, it sounds harmless enough because you aren't being directly flirted with. The only other situation where this would be something else, is if he already knows you are taken (you've talked about having a boyfriend, you have a wedding ring, etc.) and was wondering if you had any sisters that looked more or less like you.
