Why do guys talk to multiple girls at the same time?

This guy started talking to me and I told him I just wants to be friends. He said that's fine and still flirts with me which I though was cute. However he just texted me saying I should maybe stop texting him cause he has a girlfriend. I'm not mad because I told him we were only friends, just a little hurt cause he doesn't want to talk anymore.

Shows how immature you are, "suck a d***" are you twelve? No one this guy doesn't want to be with you. It shouldn't have hurt you if you really meant you wanted to be friends. Girls do that a lot so the guy chases them trying to get them to see the guy as more than a friend. Once a friend in my book always a friend. I dont play game with anyone, i dont honestly know why you are doing that with him. I wouldn't say he was lying when he said that cause you dont know the truth. In actuality i dont think you could handle the truth.

Girls do the exact same thing. Its a belief which society has imprinted upon us that everyone isn't just looking at/interested in one person, and nobody wants to be in a situation where theyre talking to an interest who is then snatched up by someone else leaving you high and dry with no 'back ups'

Anyway, that's in terms of showing interest and looking for a potential relationship. As far as merely talking to multiple girls goes, well, that's just being sociable at its base level. I mean I talk to multiple guys and that doesn't have any hidden meaning.

Ps: I think in your case the guy is being a twat. Having a girlfriend is no reason to stop talking to girls.

I think that's ridiculous that people can't have opposite gender friends in a relationship. I don't mind if a hypothetical girlfriend of mine had male friends and I wouldn't want to be with someone that would restrict who I talk to.

I agree. There's a fine line between friendship and relationship and you shouldn't have to terminate friendships due to the start of a relationship. I don't think there's anything wrong with having girls as friends while being in a relationship. This leaves me awfully confused.
