Why do guys ignore girls on purpose?

I'm not quite sure if men think it's a cute game to play, or if someone gave them horrible advice and told them that girls like to be ignored.. but it's not cool.

Yes, we don't want you to be clingy...and being available every minute of the day is kind of a turn off, but if I ask you a question and you just ignore it and talk about something else or I text you and you don't answer for hours and then later say 'wow we barely talked all day' it's gonna frustrate the hell out of me.

Also, the whole... swoon me for 3 days then ignore me for 2 days thing.. I don't get it.

What's up with that guys?

I think it's a mixture of some of everything for guys that aren't complete buttwipes. Meaning they don't want to appear clingy or too available. So even when they like a girl, they want to play it cool. Not realizing, after a while, it is not COOL-at all. Sometimes they have been hurt and want to be safe. Sometimes one of their friends advise them to "not call her right away...let her think you got a lot going on," or "man, wait til she calls you twice in a row." (or something like that.) Sometimes they don't answer because they don't even realize it requires a response. You may send something cute like "Just thinking about you and thought I would say hello.." And he's like oh how nice...but sees no reason to respond because there is no question mark. However, if a guy sent the same message to you or myself...we'd reply back with something, even just a thanks. Guys no. Sometimes they are busy...work is a lot of times the highest priority to a guy and by the time they are done, they feel it's too late.

As for the swooning thing...he probably isn't swooning you at all. He is just more available and you take it as him swooning. I mean, he is probably interested but happens to have time to make some effort and even though you may not want to admit it, you love it, get excited, and feel like he is digging you.

Yeah I think you're right. Sometimes I think to myself its so rude because I would never do that...but, of course, he's not me...he's a guy and thinks totally different. haha

I ran into the same problem a little while ago. But I am not they type to go on a rant like "oh emm gee...you didn't answer me! Why!? It took you 3 whole hours to respond to my texts!!! Blah blah blah!"

But I had to tell him I was put off by it. I calmed down LOL then told him I've realized he is busy but I think being ignored is rude and asked that he show a bit of consideration. Things are much better now :-) I respected his time and space and he respects my wishes

I don't get it. When I talk to a girl she doesn't say anything. And that frustrates ME.

Be more specific... like you walk up to a random girl in public?

Umm basically, its like trying to converse with a mattress. I could meet them any where. I always respond to texts though (Maybe I should stop :X) if that's what it takes to get girls.

Well coming up to a girl you've never met before can be really nerve racking. I definitely give guys kudos for that. Just try to make conversation. Best way to get her to like you is to compliment her. Don't be cheesy, and don't be too forward or she'll be kind of freaked out. A guy that goes to the same gym as I do once just passed by me and said 'your hair looks really nice today, I like it' I swear it made my whole day!

Yea its starting the conversation I guess that I struggle with. I can't think of light interesting conversation when it comes time to.

I ignore the boring ones that are no fun to talk to or hang out with usually.

I'm not insinuating the guy needs to talk to me all the damn time, I'm busy too... but I somehow find the time to send him a cute text throughout the day..
