How do guys respond to rejection?

Just a few questions:

When a guy asks a girl out, does a 'no' make him not want to ask again? Especially if he has been rejected on more than one occasion. How much does a 'no' affect a guy and his ego? How does a guy face rejection?

And what makes a guy feel like he should stop trying?

A lot of these things depend on the guy, and the type of rejection.

The only time I would say that rudeness should be given is when the guy is rude to you in how he asks, or if he's just not getting it, and he's starting to get creepy (he asks you out once a week, for 10 weeks in a row...). then you've got to be tough. And unfortunately, perhaps a bit mean, so he'll get a clue.

Personally, I've faced a lot of nasty responses, for completely innocent date invites. For me, it's more frustration at the number of no's and the way I'm treated afterward than the specific girl that said no, although there are a few that were a lot more difficult for me than others.

Usually, with a cruel response, I become ill for a few minutes, end up with a lot of adrenaline for the night, and I'm done. Because it's been so rough most times, it's manifested itself into some physical issues.

I admit, I hate asking women out. But, I'm a man, I realize this, and it's my role, if I ever want the chance at a relationship. But it's still not fun.

So, my advice to you is to be as honest, straightforward, and polite as you can be, and most normal guys will respect you for it.

An "ask me out next week" with no intention of a yes, is dishonest, and doesn't help either of you out.

Please do us normal guys a favor and don't make it harder by being rude. You won't be helping the situation any.

Huh… it depends. The thing with being a guy is that we hear no WWWWAAAAYYY more than we hear a yes. So it's something that we're used to. In guy-speak, sometimes a no means that we asked at a wrong time. She might be interested, but it's just a question of bad timing. "If I screwed up with her here & there, I might get a better chance next time" is usually the thinking. So he may ask 2 or 3 times before he gives up the ghost. Especially if he likes her.

The thing is if you want to get the message across, you have to be firm, direct, but kind. Basically you have to say that "You're a cool guy & all… I like talking to ya… but no matter what happens that's something that's not gonna happen between us." You have to be direct like that.

The guy usually is bothered more by the way he is rejected, than by just getting a "no". If the girl lets him down easy, and is kind about it, its a lot easier to take. Plus, there is never a reason to be rude, unless the guy persists after being told no; or becomes a stalker!

It depends on the guy. Some guys feel defeated, and some are even more determined. A guy might stop trying when she makes it clear that she wants nothing to do with him.

When you get rejected enough times to where the woman doesn't get to know you that's when it gets tough to keep trying.

A no affecting a guys ego? Hmm.... it hurts pretty bad, he will be depressed for a month but he will be back on his feet. He will also still have questions on did he ask at the wrong time and a bunch of other stuff.
