Push and pull flirting?

Push and pull flirting is the technique in flirting where you flirt build up tension in a compliment and then deflate the tension with a joke or a subverting sarcasm.
It is quite hard at times easy at others, any experiences? Tips? Funny moments?
If you don't use it , share your various techniques !

I generally don't flirt a lot, but when I do it's mostly jokes and with compliments slipped in. I don't have much tact, so I'll be checking out this question as more opinions come in.

I think it’s annoying and hard to nuance it.
Playful teasing is a lighter intensity of push/pull and easier to use. Love triangles are far more effective in my opinion.
