Am I a friend to him or maybe more?

Could someone give me a fairly objective perspective on this guy's behaviour?
I'll try to sum up the most important things I've noticed. We've met in person, and now we kinda talk online.
I would be glad to know what's up.

In person, I've noticed this:
Ruffles his hair when we speak
Looks at me for a long time
Flushed cheeks
Observes my body language and facial expressions
Teases me, lets me tease him too
Smiles while looking at me
Seems to really feel my pain when I'm sad
Tries to help out
Sometimes his body language becomes very macho

Online:
Reaches out
Also ruffling his hair :D
Replies very or fairly quickly
Smiles while looking at the screen (I guess he's looking at me, what else would there be to look at)

He's been trying to soothe me when something was up, and is trying to be there for me in general.
I wonder if he views me as a friend or maybe something else... ?
