Why would he say "see you soon"?

If you hooked up with someone one night and then the next day went your separate ways without exchanging phone numbers, why would the guy say "see you soon"? It was a guy in fraternity I hooked up with and there are big chances of me seeing him again because of the whole frat/sorority community at my school but if he didn't want it to be just a one night stand why wouldn't he ask for my number? Do you think he just said see you soon for no reason or do you think he would try to hook up with me again?

He probably put very little thought into it.

He probably thinks, oh, I will see her again soon considering the situation you're in with the frat/sorority thing.

He might even try hooking up with you again.

Just because you guys hooked up doesn't mean he's going to be an ass and avoid you.

But I think, yes, if he wanted a relationship or something he would have got a number and probably not started with sex.

Don't worry about it - you're thinking too much.

I usually say later to people instead of goodbye - doesn't mean I'm going to see them later.

Would he hook up with you again? Probably. Does he want to date you? Probably not. It's just a figure of speech type of thing that people say without thinking. I constantly say see you later to people that I don't intend on seeing any time soon.
