Do you react as though they are complimenting you as a person as well, or do you feel awkward because you didn't do anything to get your name?

Yeah sure but my name is so boring one yawns when saying it.
It’s much more fun…. I’m usually getting called a Name according to body cues🙃. And that’s so much more interesting as I learn new Kra-Dai, Thai, and Hindi regional and tonal expletives. 🗣
from your choices, mostly neutral...
I am just used to it, my second name seems to be a likeable one by few people, they think it is a very good sounding name, and my nickname seems to be popular as well
I certainly don't feel bad or annoyed in any way, but I do not make it more than just a compliment on my name, it just is what is
No, because my name is Phillip Micucci. And anyone that would compliment my name I assume is just taunting me. I don't have it as bad as my sister Sharon though. She was teased much more growing up than I was. My parents said they didn't do this intentionally but I don't believe them. 😡
Does Sharon share? :D
None of the above; i laugh. I’m also quick to point out that i didn’t name myself. Big fan of Bill Engvall and “Here’s your (idiot) sign.”! Ell oh ell!
Well as my name is usually a girls name I always tell them its a family name on my mom's dad sides because they was Irish and his dad was name Kelly. I was kinda made fun of my name in grade school but changed in highschool and girls liked it.
I just think they are bit dim
although I imagine it might be different for people with unusual names whether they chose them or not
Like my real name? That’s odd my name is nothing off the wall
It's never happened. What's there to compliment?
I feel as though they're complimenting me as a person.
I go by a nickname that I decided so yeah, I'd feel complimented. Means I picked good. 👍
I dont get that most people can't pronounce my last name first time right they butcher it so do automated bank voice machines an phones
Neutral being complement it on my name isn't that big of a deal to me.
People sometimes make fun of my name, collie isn't a common name I guess
Feel like it's the first time ever because usually I get compliments from my family
With my name, that would be an odd compliment to get.
Why would a compliment on something I didn't have to earn feel good?
Yes, I like it when people are using my name
Nobody has. They rarely remember it. Lmaooooooo
It's not like I had anything to do with it so thank my parents. LOL If I had changed my name and chosen my current one, I'd say "thanks, I picked it myself".
It just field weird.
