Do guys just randomly invite people over? How do I know if he likes me and the reason for his invite?

So, this guy friend kind of invited me to his place. We're friends but he's like the "friend of a friend". I've had a crush on him for a while, not a major crush tho, though I just find him cute. He's never made a move on me, we've met in groups a few times and I assumed he was dating our mutual friend or that at least they have something going on. I've never been able to prove this tho and I didn't bother asking. But he's hinted that he's single. Long story short, he flirted with me after I posted a picture and I harmlessly flirted back. One thing led to another and he invited me over to his place to " test out something new he just got" (an inside joke). I don't mind visiting but I'm not sure if he really likes me or if he was just joking with the invite. Also, maybe he's the type who randomly invites girls to his place, I'm not even sure if he doesn't have a girlfriend like he's hinted.

I also wouldn't want him to think I'm easy. Should I go over? Or I should wait for him to mention it again?

PS: we already jokingly picked a day. I don't want a situation where it turns out I misread the signals and was excited about nothing. I screamed when he asked if I would come over.

I do not invite people over. I am talking like 30-60 days before you know where I live. I imagine that is not normal though.

We have a history as friends asides from having a mutual friend (they're closer than I am to him) We've known each other for more than two years and I've always had a minor crush on him, nothing major. we chat and have meaningful conversations from time to time online but we've never met up alone, just randomly running into each other at our mutual friend's place. I don't want to be too forward and destroy our friendship.

It sounds like a sincere move to me. If he was out for one thing I think he could have tried that game long ago. But like you say, no one really knows what's going on in an other's life until we start getting into their lives. It is always risky but you guys are familiar with one another.

Who are you going t pressure first for the truth... the friend or him... how's that going to play out?

Yeah, I guess it doesn't sound like he has an ulterior motive so I'll see how it goes. If he mentions it again, then I'll ask him for clarity.
Also, I'll most likely ask my friend jokingly if there's anything between them. I just wouldn't want things to be awkward, that's why I didn't blow the issue of my crush out of proportion in the first place. All I based my assumption on was their interactions and her body language anytime we got together. Now that he seems interested, I'm tempted to see how it goes.

1. Find out if he had a thing with that mutual friend, that would give you context into his character and avoid any potential awkwardness with the mutual friend.

2. Usually inviting someone to your house leads to one thing so if this is the first time you guys hang out 1:1 then he is likely to expect something more.

3. Are you sure that that joke is an inside joke? Sounds kinda sexual.

Look if you wanna have sex with him then that's fine. Maybe clarify 1 and then you'll know what to expect.

Lol, no, the joke wasn't sexual, it was more flirty than sexual. I really hope it didn't come off as the latter to him tho. And I'd prefer to get to know him better before jumping into bed with him, I doubt he expects that. I'll just really like to hang out with him first, one on one, if that makes sense.

If he invites you over with just you and him there, then he is 95% wanting sex. Call me old fashioned, but I do not believe that straight men and women can be friends if there is any romantic or sexual attraction from one or both parties. You two have already been flirting, so that tells me that you're not strictly friendly.

If he only wanted to hang out with you, then there would be other people around, or he would go with you to a public place.
