Girl wants to be friends with benefits but sends mixed signals?

This girl and I hooked up on the first date and afterwards she initiates contact with me but would get hot and cold at times. We went on a second date a week later and hooked up as usual. Just to be clear and on the same page, I asked her what she wanted. She said she doesn't just want a boyfriend at this time nor fuck buddy to just have sex with but likes to hang out with me and go on dates while having sex also (she always pays for her half so clearly she is not using me for money). She also told me that she wants us to go out soon in a few weeks and asked if I want to meet her friend (she already told her bestie about me apparently). I am so confused about what is going on. Does she truly just want to be "friends with benefits" or am I reading too much into this?

in my opinion you're reading too much and probably leaving out a big part of the story. First off you should never under any circumstances as a woman what she wants out of a relationship. Even if you are doing this just for conversation purposes. What it sounds like is you hooked up then started catching feelings and are in a hurry to lock her down so you initiate "the talk" w/ her. What her statement sounds like she's saying is she's not looking for YOU. Have you been on any dates w/ her since you told her this?

Nope, she’s been ghosting me recently after I asked her that question and I know that was a mistake because women should be the ones initiating the relationship question. I think the right move is just to move on and focus on other things in my life. What’s your opinion?

Moving on is probably the best choice at this time. If you ignore her long enough she'll probably reach back out to you. If she follows you on social media, you can try to post as many pictures of you having fun w/ other girls around (actual pictures though nothing fake)
