Yes, almost all of the women I've known cannot stand being wrong, which also includes someone disagreeing with them. In general, men enjoy active discussion, even when there are disagreements.
Another point, based on my experience. Women hold grudges for trivial things, and hold them much longer than men do.
Of course, there are exceptions, but I'm speaking in general.

Women, typically, hate looking bad more than anything. Correcting them hurts their image. Conversely, they tend to look down on people they correct even over the slightest thing. It's an evolution thing: a woman's image safe guarded her place in society. As a highly emotional and weak gender, they didn't stand a chance against the dangers of the world alone.
I've corrected many women in my life. They usually keep up the front and/or get angry. They don't typically admit fault unless it's next to harmless, and sometimes they're even thankful. The women who admit to their faults the most are either more submissive, into you, or lying to get out the conversation quicker.
