A lot of that is the result of airbrushed p*rn stars who 1) have their livelihood based on having zero body fat and, since they're in a studio can rely on editing to remove blemishes, zits, etc. Unfortunately, internet p*rn is so prevalent- well not completely unfortunately, but women seem to get the shitty end of the deal because I guess more guys look at poem, Women seem to realize that most men aren't going to have movie star looks- assisted by movie star make-up artists, wardrobe directors and doubles id they are too short, have cocks too small for scene etc. so most women have realistic standards when dating. Men, the primary consumers of p*rn, esp. visual p*rn- many women seem to prefer written - who have gotten the majority of their experience from the internet think that there are women who starve themselves so they can remain a size 0, spend hours and $$ on make up/hair, and who then (on film) seem to live so they can have their ultimate sexual experience going down on either equally glam women or guys with a beer gut, bald spot, or who guys who hang around w/ other guys watching TV , don't give a rat's ass about money and who love nothing more than wearing stiletto heels and whose peak sexual experiences are fretting a wad of come on her face.
Eventually some of those guys are going to realize that sex can include another person and will realize that internet p*rn is about as real as thinking they're a rock star because of the quality of air guitar they play.
On the other hand, I read an lot of girls who write on here asking how they can give better head to guys who have never gotten them off so?
Models have always struck me as boring. Sure they are nice to look at but the vast majority of the time there is nothing else there.
What I really look for in a woman is intelligence and wit. I am a conversationalist and love serious discussions about anything and everything. If a woman can't keep up with my conversations then there is absolutely no hope, drop dead gorgeous or not.
I am a sarcastic creature. I ooze sarcasm as a rule. And oftentimes I don't bother changing my inflection. It takes a special type of person to read my sarcasm. I don't generally enjoy explaining myself when I am being sarcastic, so if you can't read it, there is absolutely no hope, drop dead gorgeous or not.
All that said, I have met girls that would never dream of being models that are infinitely more attractive/alluring than any model could ever be. Whether it's the sassy looks she gives me or playful toss of her hair, I can't say, but it will get me every time if there is anything behind those puppy dog eyes.
Looks can be important though. I could be considered a rather shallow person by some standards. I have lists of what I look for in people. Those lists have worked rather wonderfully in the past and I expect they will continue to serve me well. I do prefer a girl that is cute. I'm not talking about Kate Upton or anything, but someone who goes for the odd run and enjoys taking care of her body is far better for me than someone who doesn't.
This is pretty long, so for the lazy ones out there...
TL;DR: Smarts and humor are more important that looks, but looks aren't unimportant.

Like attracts like. I was in a bad shape 6 months ago, a bit over weight, and emotionally not in a good form, stressed, as I was working in a corporate world and not really taking care of myself, spent like 10 hours at work. And the girls I attracted weren't in shape also. now i am in a better shape and find that Its a lot easier for me to date good looking girls, and smart ones. On the other hand, I did meet really hot girl when I was in a good shape. So its also could be a question of where you are looking. Do you have a photo of yourself? curious...

By that you mean not wanting a woman to be obese or overweight? Then yes, I hold a women as a species to a "high standard" cause I want them to be proud of their body...and nobody is proud to be fat or pudgy. Everyone wants a model and everyone wants to be a model.
Since you are going on this route, have you ever considered how high the standards are for men?
Considerably higher, we just don't constantly bitch about society but deal with it and better ourselves.

Honestly, I actually find most super models to actually be UNattractive, both in the face and in the body. I like curves. Girls with a waist curving to wider hips who have some actual meat on their bones and a rounder face with a cute little nose drive me nuts. I don't want to see your skeleton through your skin. I don't want your face to be as long as a mule's. I don't want you to be carried away by a gently breeze.
The most important thing, I want you to be healthy and happy. A fun, active girl who simply radiates fun can make any body type attractive.

Don't reject this idea but all people have a bare minimum when it comes to looks, because that's one of the factors of first "spark".
If you're aiming for like the top 10% of guys, as most girls are, then yes you're going to have a tough time. A guy with good looks, a good career, a good education, and with humour, charm and kindness and strength, is very rare.
But, if you're less picky, you don't even have to be average-looking to find a reasonably OK guy.
