Why you cocky guys get shy around some girls?

really, I noticed it a lot now. I didn't have an opportunity to ask in person, so why do some confident cocky guys get awkward shy and just have some kind of trance when certain girl is near them.
I know you can say "oh , he likes her".
No, I want to know Why this guys change their behaviour from cocky douchebag to totally awkward shy guy, how can just a girl influence them, changing their persona or behaviour so drastically.

Because they are really tryharding to act like something they aren't. They ACT cocky because they are insecure as fuck. Most guys whos REALLY confident treat people equal regardless of who the fuck they are. Sure they will treat someone they like different simply because different would be the right way to go if he wants the girl. However he wouldn't be awkward and shy.

If someones super cocky around everyone it's usually the same as putting on a mask to hide himself.

Hope it at least makes some sense to you, I'm quite shitty at explaining.

@donut94 It's a good thing somone understood it! A lot of people don't relise it, but the most loud, cocky people are the ones whos the easiest to shut up. Which is why they often go shy like the one asking the question asked :)

No, if he isn't insecure and scared he will act different around her in a more flattering way then coming off as awkward. It's a way to show her he is intrested in her.

It's probably him having a crush on you, otherwise he wouldn't treat you differently. Or it could possibly be you being different then other girls in a way he don't know how to act on it.

Pussy power, even the most masculine man and cocky guys goes low in front of the girl he like or care about , if that girl insults him due to some act he does then his image will go down in trash in front of her and also his friends and buddies. and he cannot treat her in bad way as he so badly cares about her, cocky guys are less with brain and assume that girl as his own part. And imagine the situation when your soul and your body starts hating each other its like she is her soul he is body he will not be able to like and survive happily.

People have told me that don't know me well say I give off a cocky confident vibe and its far from who I am. I'm actually shy and reserved even more so around a girl I like, but never got called a douchebag because I am normally polite to everyone. Went a little off topic, my point is maybe said guy has an attraction to you and likes you making him nervous, or nevrous around girls he likes.

Because it's stressful. And most women are smart enough to see through it, so they'll make you feel like a failure regardless. If you're insecure there's no interest, if you act cool, they'll ask you why you're putting on an act. You lose regardless.

This reminds me of something that I read two weeks ago. I was reading the book of 1 Esdras that appears in the Orthodox Bible (I'm not Orthodox but was reading it anyway), and in the story three people write sentences to the king regarding which is the strongest:

"Let every one of us speak a sentence: he that shall overcome, and whose sentence shall seem wiser than the others, unto him shall the king Darius give great gifts, and great things in token of victory: The first wrote, Wine is the strongest. The second wrote, The king is strongest. The third wrote, Women are strongest: but above all things Truth beareth away the victory."

So even 2,000 years ago women had power over even the cockiest of guys. I mean the king let Apame take his crown and apparently slap him. If a guy did that to the king, he probably would have been executed.

but the fact that if men has Really strong feelings for that one women then he becomes weak, similar to this king. Do you agree in this?
ps : the movie is underrated, but in my opinion is good.
