Personally, I think there is difference between having a strong preference for a particular race and having race as the ONLY factor that determines if you date someone. in my opinion, the former is fine, the latter is weird.
Like I wouldn't be offended if a girl specifically wanted to date a white guy as long as she also appreciates my other qualities. As long as my race wasn't the only factor that makes her want to stay with me.

But, no shit.. A stereotype isn't meant to apply to every person in Group X. It simply makes note of a trend or patteren that is observed in the group as a whole. Maybe you prefer a certian set of physical characteristics or personality traits and while its not true that those traits will be found in every member of Group X, I don't believe that all traits are equally distributed amoung all cultures or races. Some will show up more frequently in some groups than they do in others.
Regardless, I don't believe it should be punished. That's ridiculous. I think their "punishment" is just that if they are too forward about their preference that they probably get turned down by the people they are hoping to attract.

Fetishizing is dependent on the preference being rare. A foot fetish makes sense because it's uncommon. A breast fetish isn't possible. It's also impossible to have a fetish for a race because being attrached to a race isn't uncommon.
If you notice, the only two groups that have been mentioned as having fetishes for each other are white guys and Asian girls. I'm not aware of any other races having been talked about that way. The reason, I believe, is probably due to mostly some people outside those groups feeling intimidated and wanting to minimize those groups dating.
