I met a guy on Tinder and we've been hitting it off great. He was talking all the time, super flirty, and always checked in on me. At this time, he was still getting back into a routine because he was overseas and hadn't returned to work yet. Our first couple of dates were awesome.
About 3 weeks in, he needed to take a bunch of tests before going back to work, no free time, but still texting regularly. At this point, we had talked a lot about our personal lives, he's had family issues and a close friend dying. We've been very open with each other. He finally went back to work, which involved him being on call and working everyday.
Once work started, he's been chatty, but not as much. We met up again and slept together. He still hung out with me for 3 hours after that, even after learning that he was going to have to work 10pm-5am that night and it was 4pm. He held my hand, watched tv with me, cuddled, showed me funny videos, and made me a snack of milk and cookies. Walked me to my car, told me to text him when I got home.
I haven't seen him since then, but we still talk regularly. He has been exhausted with his current schedule, but gets a regular schedule in a month. We've talked about hanging out again, he says we'll definitely make it happen. He still asks questions about my life. I texted him Thursday because I was bored and dealing with issues at work, then apologized about it because he was tired. He said it was ok. I texted him twice the next day and heard nothing, which is not unusual, he may vanish for a day, but then get back to me. I texted him once the next day asking how was work, still nothing.
I'm worried I've been ghosted. He has never seemed the type to do that. He also has a ton going on in his life and may be dealing with something I don't know. But I am feeling bad that I've heard nothing and I don't know what to do next. Should I text him to check in with him and see how he's doing? Is that too clingy? Should I pull the whole "don't text him back" thing? Help

I texted him an hour ago telling him I was just saying hi and seeing how he was doing, hoping he was doing well and having a good weekend. No response. Pretty hurt at this point.
