Why do guys insist on getting a girl’s kik?

I often notice that guys want to know if I have kik.

We could be having a conversation, then almost immediately and out of the blue, “Do you have kik?”

Why is this? What’s the big deal? They ask me that more than they ask for my phone number. Why kik?

I don’t get it. Please explain.

On another note... is it a bad idea to give my kik tag to someone I don’t know well? Why?

They want to get to messaging offline, often because they want to get to sexting and exchanging nudes. Kik is an easy offer because you don't have to exchange phone numbers, just user IDs. So a girl might be more willing to go for kik or snap exchange.

You don't have to reveal personal info on Kik, so people thing there's a better chance that someone would give their Kik ID than for example a phone number to a stranger.

Most guys are curious and they probably like to chat privately with girls to get to know them better. I have done the same thing. Its not a big deal to give out your user name, because you can always just block anyone you don't know or don't want to talk too.

Kik is used by many people to have sexting. It is also easy to share pics so most men and women tend to ask for Kik profile. There is no hassle of sharing contacts and everything works smooth there.
