Guys, Poll: would you want to date a playboy or glamour model?

Someone else asked this question, and I responded, and got 3 thumbs down (all from guys):

Most of the guys on this website will probably say yes, but many guys who are more educated would say no.

So, why the TDs? From my life experience (I know a lot of educated people), and what I've seen on this website (lots of poorly educated people, I have to be honest), the above is true.

Would I want to date a playboy/glamour model? I feel like “want” implies seeking it out, so that’d be a no. It’s not a profession that I’d prefer in a partner. (Of course, I’m ignoring the fact that I’m not exactly some successful model’s first choice lmao) Chances are, our personalities wouldn’t match well. I’m a pretty reserved individual. That being said, I do understand to an extent that the stage presence / persona is not always the true person.

So, assuming I go on some date with a person in the field, and I find us somehow really connecting, a different question then is “would the profession be a dealbreaker?” To that, it’s a yes and no. I could probably deal with a former profession / past as the playboy model or whatnot, but I’d have issues with the person being active in the profession. It’s the same way with someone being an adult cam model. If the person is a former cam model, I can look past that, but if she is an active one, I’d feel bothered by it.

The reasoning is that modeling in explicit photos/videos would feel too much like the person going out and sending nudes. Even if it’s a job, even if it’s totally upfront and non-secretive, I’d have a hard time accepting that idea, regardless of whether there is/is not an emotional connection in that. Yeah— I know it’s not equivalent, but my mind is having a difficult time overcoming that standpoint.

There are some past Playboy girls who I definitely would have been interested in dating, but many I wouldn't be (let's set aside the fact that not many would be interested in dating me - this isn't news to me). Unfortunately, while Playboy began with the all-natural "girl next door", they evolved in the 80s to more of the plastic Barbie look with most girls having fake boobs (and I'm sure some had fake other stuff). That's a turn-off for me. And some of those girls had some pretty awful personalities. But there were some girls who had great personalities too, and natural bodies and obviously were beautiful. Who wouldn't want that?

The other thing is that a lot of those women are very materialistic, and as beautiful as they are, they know they have plenty of choices - hell, if they limited it to men with at least a 10-figure net worth, they'd still have plenty of choices - so relatively few would be remotely interested in a working-class guy after spending time having Hollywood celebs and pro athletes hitting on them, as well as very, very wealthy men. Even if they came from a humble lifestyle, most of the ones drawn to Playboy are looking for an Ibiza lifestyle of ultra-high-end partying and vacations.

If by educated person you mean someone who has any degree, your mistaken. Having degree means your able to finish something, not that your educated. In fact you can almost buy a degree.
If by educated person you mean someone with wide knowlage and know how, how to use it, shure Im with you on that one.

So now about glamour model, its a girl who's body is attractive so she can take suggestive photos of her. Why hate? from a men perspective, she's hot, if she can dance and hold conversation about different topics im in. I would date her. If just looks, mehh i would pass. Im past that age when only looks counted.

Im shure your educated, so why you talk about playboy and glamour model, when they are not even close to being the same? Playboy will play with people, glamour model, how can picture play with someone?

Ps. if you think every beautiful woman out there are fake, you should start with looking at yourself. They often work out way more, in fact knowing some fitness models and runway models There schedule is crazy.

Pss. about being in league, dunno i dont think there is one. Looks can only get you so far. If your boring or uninteresting to me i won't try to sleep with you, and i dont care how good looking you are. Yes i will be physically attracted to you, but that's all. Hookup maybe... Any way i suspect same could be said about girls.

About buying a degree - you can't 'buy' a degree in in the UK, or in France, and not in most US universities.

Ps.. About being 'attractive' and 'fake' - I didn't say that ALL attractive women are fake, I said that PLAYBOY WOMEN ARE FAKE - they all have implants and lots of other surgery. I don't think one of them is natural.

Many actresses and celebrities, and Victoria's Secret models, are beautiful women and they take care of themselves, but they aren't all fake and full of plastic surgery like Playboy models are. Glamour models are like Plaboy models, Playboy is just one men's magazine, there are others like it.

By saying all PLAYBOY models are fake implies that you know them all (nearly impossible), same - probably, some just like actresses just have a great body and know how to keep it fit.
So what a push up bra and she has a fake tits? Or its a men magazine and girls there are all fake, its womans and they are all natural, hard working beautiful woman. I hope you see problem there.
And i will be even more blunt, you dislike them so you try to trash them, but you dont do it for all of them, just some. You dislike idea of woman doing something to please men, even if its just a picture. there's no equality between woman.

Tell me how Victoria's secret are different from glamour model? They both are in underwear and sugestive poses - to me its the same thing.

Also yes you can buy degree, it doesn't matter if it takes day or years, if you haven't earned then you have bought it. Being student on books and then buying paper isn't earning degree, its buying it.

@Janncis I would be very surprised if there is a Playboy model from the past 15 years or so who hasn't had any plastic surgery. Every single one I've seen on the reality show, Playboy Mansion, clearly had fake tits and most of them lots of other fake things too, noses, lips... Hollywood actresses and other types of model are NOT fake like this. Sure they have make-up, but not all that plastic surgery!

"You dislike idea of woman doing something to please men..." - This is not what I have said, and this is not what the question is. You are jumping to conclusions and being defensive. Selling your body is not necessary to please *all* men; a woman can dress in a sexy way and take care of her body, and want men to find her attractive, but that isn't the same as selling your body for a career.

@Janncis I don't know what you mean about "buying" a degree - you have to WORK to get the degree, to pass it and get high grades. If you don't get a high grade, your degree is worthless in the job market and will take you nowhere.

In the UK, the government gives people loans to study for a degree, and you essentially don't have to pay most of it back.

Well unless your a pro at plastic surgery you can't tell whats fake and what is not fake, unless its so bad that men can tell it to.

Does someone actually looks at degree marks? Most what i have seen is paper theme and mark for it.

@Janncis LOL - you do not need to be a "pro" to be able to tell what is fake. Fake breasts are quite obvious, especially when the woman is very thin. Cheek fillers and botox and lip enhancements are also easy to see.
Often it's blatantly obvious. Sometimes men are completely blind when a woman has fake beachball breasts, because, well, men don't actually have breasts themselves, so don't know how they naturally lie on the body.

There are also a tonne of photos of famous people before they were famous, and many times you can see a clear difference.

Hahaha, I love the way you wrote this question... I would NOT want to date a playboy or glamour model. In fact, if I were to find out that the woman I'm on a date with, happened to be a playboy or glamour model... there won't be another date. To be honest, I would gladly leave in the middle of THAT date... if there were some polite way to do it (I don't think there would be)

As it happens, I am educated, but not super-highly (I've got a university degree, but not my masters, or Ph. D)

I didn't know how many educational categories you were looking at. So if you're just looking at highly educated/not highly educated, then, yes I wouldn't have specified... I would have called myself "educated"

BUT what if there's something different about "highly educated" (as opposed to "well" educated) group of people? Maybe once you isolate those with a Ph. D... they all of a sudden like the playboy models again.,,, but you'll miss that trend when it gets swallowed up by all of us lowly Batchelor and Master's degree holders--in the same category--who outnumber them? I don't know your what your longer-term social-scientific intentions might be. Figured I'd play it safe. ;P

I could never date someone who used to be a prostitute (even if only one who sells pictures of herself,) just too much of a red flag to ignore.

I think you're right that a smarter guy will avoid this type of woman, romantically. A guy who wants a long term relationship and respects himself won't date someone whose done these sorta things. Hell, even if she was a virgin I'm not sure I'd date her knowing her butt and prolly other stuff is plastered all over the internet.

Date, sure, but thay would be a short term relationship. I would not merry one, I mean I feel like I wouldn't be able to trust someone like that, they have way too high of a sex drive and are too high maintenance. I want a woman who is down to earth, has a steady job, enjoys a lot of the same things I do, and loves me for me not what I have or any other worldly possessions.

Been there done that with porn stars and would NEVER do it again. Talked never dated them because they were complete assholes not one but a lot which is why i would NEVER get involved in dating anyone like that or in that field or similiar again. And all those lingerie models like the ones you see in VS are chainsmokers with yellow teeth. Besides im happy with the love of my life and wouldn't want to give up what i have with her for anything in the world

Tough call. On the one hand I admire the wisdom of making money using what you have. On the other, the likelihood of narcissism in such a person makes her far less desirable as a date mate. Still, I suppose it is possible that there would be exceptions to my assumption.

I stated the difference between things like Playboy - a MEN"S SOFT PORN thing, and Victoria's Secret is a lingerie brand aimed at women, with a FASHION SHOW. Playboy is a soft porn magazine for MEN. VS models don't have their boob jobs, if they get them, paid for by a seedy old man like Hugh Heffner (when he was alive).

I think you're just being deliberately awkward. My question was about Playboy, not Victoria's Secret. Not sure that the VS girls would want to be tarred with the same brush as Playboy...

how is a playboy model different from a VS model? both of them earn money off of their physical appearance and EXCLUSIVELY their physical appearance. One does soft porn nudity the other is lingerie... to me there is difference in the motivations but the end result is the same : getting paid for your body.
So why wouldn't I want to date a playboy model? Just because YOU believe her to be an airhead? on what grounds do you base this? Were you not taught to NOT judge a book by its cover? You're simply judging a certain category of women because of a stereotype : girls who show their body for money are stupid, if they were smarter they wouldn't do that.
Why wouldn't they? they're hot and they know + it's easy money (I've been a male prostitute for 2 years, it's VERY easy money) getting paid for your body is probably the easiest job there is. You just need to keep your figure.
So no to me VS models and Playboy models are not different. Just like Natalie Portman and Asa Akira are not so different : making us believe in something that is not real for entertainment purposes.
