Why do guys start following random women on instagram after a breakup?

I've seen this a lot
With my experiences and friends experiences

After a break up with a guy.. he would follow a lot of random women on instagram
And he would like their photos, commenting on their photos and messaging those girls
And those girls don't even reply to his comments

Why do guys do this after a breakup?

I don't know how many guys do that, I don't think many do.
As far as I've seen, social media doesn't hold the same value for men as it does for women. For example, when a women usually likes a photo, she mostnof the time genuinely likes or it has a certain degree of emotions involved, hence holds it to greater importance. For a guy, generally, it's just the click of a button, nothing more.

But the type of guy you are describing is probably just trying to meet new girls but accidentally ends up looking desperate.
