My guy friend wants me to meet his parents?

So I have this guy friend that I get along with pretty well, we've been friends for about a year now, and things are great. We joke around a lot, and I like talking to him. But yesterday, he told me that he wants me to meet his parents. For me, this sounds strange; I would not go introducing friends of mine to my parents, especially friends of the opposite gender, so this gives me a "maybe he doesn't see me as a friend" vibe. Maybe I am overreacting, but for me, I got a strange feeling from it. Thoughts? For the guys out there, do you normally introduce your female friends to your parents?

To be fair, he did meet one of my parents (my dad and I were at the mall and we bumped into him), and now he said that he wanted me to meet his parents if I "was in the area" or if they came to the school to see him (him and his family live a few hours away)
