His friends want to meet me...

Is this a big step in a relationship?

He told me "My friends want to meet you . . . would that be awkward? Last night they told me 'invite your "woman" .. you talk about her and we haven't met her yet."

We're not even officially dating, so I'm a little confused if this means he's leaning towards making it official or if I'm over analyzing.

He WAS going to have me meet his parents but I said it would be overwhelming meeting his family all at once and not being prepared.

Guys, tell me what this means? I haven't dated before because I haven't had the time so...reassurance, or advice would be greatly helpful.

I'm going to say that this is a good thing. His friends want to meet you, which means that he's been talking about you a lot (I'm assuming some really good things to make them want to see if he's telling the truth). The fact that he wants to show you off implies that he's really proud of the catch he made :)
