Just curious because personally I see it as a sign of insecurity and jealousy. If your partner feels good in what they're wearing, why not let them wear it? Surely you should just trust your partner? I would let my boyfriend go out shirtless if he felt comfortable, because if he feels good why would I stop him?

I've only met a couple of girls that like their man to be over protective, neither of which liked a jealous guy.

I have to add that overprotective usually translates into "I'm too insecure for you to wear that, what if it attracts someone I feel inferior to?" Which most guys never admit to and understandably so.

To play devil's advocate here, you're assuming he's gained your perspective on the topic. In your head, you know your motive and that your intentions are genuine and you're aware of any risk that could result in dressing a certain way. In his head, he's wondering why you'd chose to wear that when it's going to draw a "dangerous" amount of attention from guys, all because you want to feel good?

Try your hardest to genuinely put yourself in his shoes so you can see things as he does. Then, flip flop and have him do the same for you. Now, calmly repeat to each other what you believe to be the other's perspective so there's no misinterpretation or misinformation between you two. Then, WORK AS A TEAM to find a compromise.

The goal is to communicate without letting emotion escalate the situation. Remember that deep breathing is your friend lol.

Well last winter my boyfriend would always make sure I dressed warm, and even bought me thermal underwear. I normally wouldn’t wear them but I did because he was over protective. I don’t know why I like it but the feeling of being taken care of and cares for is something I value.
