Boyfriend wants me to wear shorts?

We went for dinner yesterday and things went sour. Two cheap guys made some comments at me while we were out. I wasn't wearing anything revealing. It was a simple flowy lace dress but it was short.
They said something like my boyfriend must like me in bed etc. My boyfriend got mad and we left the the place. He has now demanded me to wear shorts or even his boxers underneath my dresses. he's also grown really possessive and is always touching, kissing me in public.

What do I do?

He's 25 and I'm 29.

I think its natural for a guy to want his girlfriend's most private parts not to be seen by other men. I don't know if you should have to wear shorts or boxers under your dress necessarily. There are other types clothing for girls to keep modesty under their dress that might be much more comfortable. Does it bother you that much that he wants you to keep the most intimate parts of yourself just for him while you're together, or do you just think its irrational that he should want you to wear something your not comfortable in? I would look for a compromise.

I didn't think you were. I don't know what your briefs look like, but he probably thinks they're too revealing. Its really a subjective standard. There's nothing wirong with him for being jealous. There's nothing wrong with you for thinking you're modest enough. But relationships take sacrifices. Hopefully he makes sacrifices for you. If not leave him. If he does make sacrifices for you, I think its reasonable to find a way to sacrifice for him in this way, even if its a middle ground compromise.

I usually wear normal bikini briefs. I dont even wear thongs or thong style ones as I find them uncomfortable

If I were in your boyfriends shoes, I'd be comfortable with you wearing that. He isn't. Maybe there are some breatable, comfortable forms of leggings you could wear under a dress. It really comes down to, are you willing to make that sacrifice for him, and is he the kind of guy that's worth making that sacrifice for?

If the answer to the first question is no, then I hope he's mature enough to accept your answer. I also hope this doesn't mean you're never willing to sacrifice for him. Again, healthy relationships require sacrifice from both sides.

If the answer to the second question is no, then he's probably not a guy who's worth your time.

I can wear leggings or shorts but I just find them uncomfortable to wear them under a dress. he's a bit upset bit doing ok

I hope everything works out for you. Try not to hold ant resentment toward him. Find joy in the sacrifices you make.

But again, if he doesn't also sacrifice for your relationship, then you're worth more than that and you should find someone else.

I think he needs to grow up, because he's acting childishly - which only encourages guys like the ones who commented. I don't think you need to wear shorts, but perhaps you can avoid the very short dresses too.

As for the rest, you can communicate your concerns, but it's likely that he's always been this way, and isn't likely to change, so if this is a deal-breaker for you, then you need to take some action, because he's unlikely to change.
