This is ridiculous to me. They say a man painting his nails is a form of self expression, but my question is what expression? That you're gay? bi? I don't know you tell me.
I see it as them trying to push this narrative that men can be women and women can be men, and even though they can do these things not everything you can do is right. I believe in letting the woman be a woman and letting the man be a man, I also believe in feminine and masculine energy it even runs in nature and it's so so so beautiful.
I see men painting their nails as emasculation and it's scary. The male is becoming weak.
Men, what do you think of men who paint their nails?

Something Is just off about that. They’re trying to make a statement that doesn’t need to be made. It’s the middle finger to the traditional world. Studies show that younger women have never been more depressed, and maybe it has to do with their husbands acting effeminate, acting like women, and not assuming the role as a leader. Therefore women have to fulfill the dominant role and they hate doing it. It’s not natural. The man in the picture isn’t the type of man that can lead a room or lead anything or anyone. I try not to judge in my real life, but man... it’s really hard to accept people who partake in this kind of culture.
I agree with you. It sends subconscious cues that he wants to be feminised. Of course some might argue that nail paint is only feminine because society decided it's feminine. But the fact remains, there's a collective association between painted nails and feminine expression. So a guy painting his nails is in some sense expressing femininity. Which will be a turn off to most women. (Although women on Twitter will proclaim how "brave" he is, but they won't show any signs of sexual receptivity if he so much as glances their way IRL
So, I know that some baseball catchers will paint the nails of their throwing hand, because they give signs (finger signals) to the pitcher, and especially with night games, fingernail polish can make those signals easier to see.

But this is not done for fashion, but rather an occupational need. That's understandable.
I used to paint my nails neon blue or gray when I went out to events cause my friend gave me the colors she didn't use and my sisters didn't want them. It was kinda fun I started doing both colors mixed and matched after a while, the gray went with basically everything though so I ran out of that first. Then i just used the blue on itself again and wore something that matched when I did until I ran out of that too.
Maybe the rest of my look being very traditionally un-feminine counterbalanced the fact that I painted my nails, but it never gave many people the wrong idea. It's paint it's polish, like polishing your manly boots or painting/polishing your manly truck yknow. There's nothing really feminine about nail polish except that traditionally around here women are the target costumers of nail polish sellers.
I’m a cismale. I do t see it as emasculating🤷🏾♂️. Quite the opposite actually. Culture changes with the tide. I don't know if you’ve realized but it use to be normal for men to wear skirts, wigs and high heels. Not if men do that they’re seen as queer, gay or something is wrong with them. Until you realize that this culture of defining the habits of gender is not only bullshit but subject to change with time, you’ll always fit yourself in a box. It can’t be emasculating for a man to literally go against the tide of an entire society. That’s literally braver than most men do, including myself. Most men go with the tide, not against it. And since masculinity is traditionally defined by bravery (among other things), you can see why this is certainly not emasculating. Stop adhering to tradition and start thinking what if things were different. What if we never fit ourselves into this tiny box. 🤷🏾♂️
So it's not my thing at ALL, but I don't think it's a one-size fits all answer. Today there's a lot of the 27 genders bullshittery, and of course it's possible the dude is gay or bi, but just 10 or 15 years ago, a dude painting his nails could also be "peacocking" and might even complete his look with platform shoes and eye-liner. But those were pick-up artists who were looking to score with very attractive hetero girls. And in many cases doing surprising well. Though I think Tinder and Netflix and Chill kinda killed the cold approach pick up scene and now everything is about app delivery.
Ah yes, the famously feminine and gay guys with nail polish such as Keith Richards, Steven Tyler, Steve Stevens and Ozzy Osbourne.
Honestly, I do think it's stupid, though I also think it's stupid when women do it too. But nail polish isn't inherently feminine, as any hard rock/heavy metal fan will tell you. There are plenty of guys who you'd say are the embodiment of testosterone who do their nails.
If a male uses clear polish because their nails are dull and looks like shit, then fine, but I've never done that myself and I'm not a fan of any colours or patterns or anything like that.
I personally just stick to a nail block, because my fingers always feels so awkward after I cut my nails, something I don't enjoy doing, so I may as well make them feel less horrible and look decent.
By the way, since you say men are becoming weak in the same post you ask why men paint their nails.
So I am curious about what kind of "weakness" you refer to... is it character? personality? physical? any other kind of weakness? because I can sure share some stories about people who have mistaken for ""weak" some times.
I do not care. Someone's expressing themselves as they want. It doesn't automatically make them gay or feminine as a guy just because they do it. People are not so one dimensional to where that defines them.
The only guy I know that wears nail polish is a model. At the end of the day, who really gives a fuck? If a Guy wants to wear nail polish I wouldn't give a crap. Not my thing personally, but I've got other thing's too worry about than who does or doesn't wear this or that.
I mean if i were to paint my nails, I only be doing it for practice so I could paint my daughters nails but honestly even then I don't think I wanna do it.
I agree.. It's really weird.. I hardly like it when women do it.. But men wanna get in on the action now? Oof.. It's a bit too weird to me.. That's the light way I will put it..
My toenails are painted. I’m highly unlikely to have my fingernails painted, unless it’s for a special reason, such as I’m bringing awareness to a certain cause.
I think it's okay. I saw my cousin's cover-up stick and I would wear some if I was going out in public to cover parts of my face to cover old acne marks or redness

First of all we guys shouldn't even have long nails and nail paint is an absolute no no. I agree with you, there are things called masculine and feminine energy and those two shouldn't get mixed up. I will lose respect for guys who paint their nails
