Boyfriend is never excited to see me. He is independent & lives his own life, but is this normal?

Hi guys. My boyfriend and I went on a break for about a month (we weren't able to see eachother bc of covid). However, when we got back together, he said he wouldn't be intimate with me bc it had been too long. He said "Well, I'm not just going to take you right away in my house..." I thought this was a bit strange. Would have thought he would be excited to see me or miss me, but I guess he wanted to ease back? I respected this tho, & didn't make any sudden moves.

But because of this, our intimacy really went down to zero after this break. We had to ease back into affection but it never really went up again.

He really doesn't ever *need* to see me. Ex.) he's very busy with work and will go two weeks without seeing me on vacation. He'll be fine, and he'll reply to texts days later sometimes just to get his space. I respect this, but I would think some guys would *miss* their girl and want to see them. He'll invite me over but we'll just chill, he doesn't express any missing/need to see me bc he's very involved in his projects.

Are girls just super emotional and want to see their boyfriend's more than guys do? How can I curb my desire to see my boyfriend? While expressing that I have emotional needs?

I try to give my boyfriend his space, and go out with my girlfriends much as I can, but next time, how should I bring up that I don't feel emotionally connected? Or even wanted? Is this normal for guys?
