Can a guy tell you he loves you mean it only as a friend?

This guy I’ve been friends with for over a year, tells me he has feelings for me and told me 3 months ago that he loves me. But he doesn’t like me calling him my boyfriend. Does he only mean those things in a friend way? We’ve been living together for about 6 months, we don’t talk to other people.. like we’re exclusive, we have sex, we do everything together, make plans for the future.. etc. But I dono if he just sees me as a friend. He tells me I’m everything to him but his wife. I dono what that is supposed to mean.

But I basically am his girlfriend. He just doesn’t want to admit it. That’s what my friends say. Everyone we know thinks of us as boyfriend /girlfriend. We’ve even met each other’s family

He gives me a lot of excuses. He gets really jealous, he’s trying to figure things out in his life right now, he’s scared if we break up he’ll loose me and the friendship we have.. all of his past relationships.. the girls always cheated on him so he has trust issues.

Maybe it would take him another year to get over his trust issues and be fully committed in relationship with you
