Guy's Behavior

Does he likes me or just want to be friends?

I’m in my last year of high school and suddenly this guy started talking to me when the teacher made him seat for me in math class. And we made a joke, and the next day with gym we were playing football and when we were waiting for our turn he started talking to me that he not needed his phone that much etc. So I was like “that’s good I don’t hear people saying that much” he smiled en got up to play football. In English he showed me his test result out of nowhere and said “hey I have 8.6” and I was like “good job!” And he smiled and started talking to his friends. And when we had gym Friday I said to one my friends that he was good at gym thing and he heard it and said thank you and made the same joke as by math. So after gym we went to the changing room (me and my friends) and one of my friends said “I think he has on eye on you, look how he talks to you.” And I got so confused and we went to math class. And in math class I catched him staring at me 3 times. So I am confused does he likes me or want to be friends? (Sorry for the bad English I’m not good at it and long text)
