I've been friends with this Korean guy (yes it matters that he's Korean because culturally these things can be interpreted in different ways) for about a year. I just moved to Korea a month ago and since then he's been calling me multiple times a week unprompted, we text back and forth all day, and when I asked if he wanted to hang out cause I was going up near his city he planned the day to look like what I, an American, would see as a date (cafe, walking, arcade, karaoke, drinking) but in Korea may just be seen as two friends shootin' the shit or whatever. But last night he said next time we should hang out in my town and make cocktails and watch a movie at my place because there's nothing to do in my town. He also wants to study abroad but said "If I go away then we can't meet often so that's a problem". HERE'S THE THING THOUGH: he calls me "bestie" in English, but because it's his second language I don't know if he means it the same way a guy in America might mean it (to friendzone). So I would just like some outside opinions because I don't want to confront him and risk ruining the friendship or pushing him away.
Superb Opinion
I think he has friend zoned you, but why not ask him?
