I was on senior trip, we were at a mall and it was night. I saw my friends, two girls and I ran up to them but when I got closer I realize they were scared. I am not a tall or heavy man. I am 5'10, 183 lbs so to the average person I am honestly skinny. But at night I guess I look different, I think a lot of men don't realize that we are scary sometimes. We may just be walking down the straight but to someone else we could look like a criminal or a stalker. This happens a lot to women, with SA and rape happening across the world. It's understandable that we may come off as scary even if we are just trying to be friendly. Body language impacts a lot of the things that we do around others, most of us men don't realize this till we get older or we have an experience that shows us this. Men be careful, you see someone walking down the street in front of you, try stopping at a road sign and let that person keep walking till they are either outside of your view or a good distance from you. I understand that you wanna get to where your going and more than likely you have no intent of harming anyone but to someone who doesn't know you, they are gonna assume that your out to hurt them. Is that right? No but its understandable with todays world. So please be aware of your size, please be aware of your body language and understand that no matter how big of a softie you are, people will judge and think your a monster just for being you. Just stay calm and be careful.

Preaching "stranger danger" lead to generation more bigoted than we'd seen in a century, that thinks nothing of demanding censorship of views that differ from theirs, and the firing and ostracization of people who hold them.

Preaching constant paranoia lead to generation unable to assess personal risk, which gave us a people willing to accept the Covid lockdowns that killed hundreds of thousands and destroyed social bonds in exchange for... a vast unwarranted expansion of government power.

People have a right to BE safe. They do not have a right to FEEL safe. If they choose to assume that everyone they don't know is out to hurt them, that's a damned shame, but it's not my responsibility. Let them encounter someone who doesn't indulge their cowardice, and maybe they'll learn something.

Quite a bit but we emphasize body language (both expressing and reading) a lot here in Japan. We call someone who can't do this KY (Kuuki Yomenai: someone who "can't read the air"), and it's considered an extremely bad quality here.

So there's a lot of attention here on paying attention to social situations and how we influence them and how other people feel: body language and tone of voice are critical things in communication since Japanese tend to not communicate very directly.

I look serious unapproachable a bit inteligent emotionless some people think I am insane someone people think I know the truth about life that's why nothing surprises me
But that is actually who I am so I ain't giving out a wrong picture or a fake self

Yep I understand. Kids hiding behind their parents when they see me, people would rather just stand up rather than sit next to me but when I get up they sit down, there have a good amount of times where someone was standing right next to me while talking to other people and they never said a word to me then they just walk away
