My man going out and never contacting me?

So when my partner goes out if he wants to be out all night that’s fine, we don’t have kids together and he can live his own life I fully trust him. But all I ask is he checks in now and again so I know he’s ok, I don’t ask where he is or what time he’s home, I just want to no he’s ok and still alive on a night out, I’ve asked him To just check in now and again, he says he will but never does, am I been unreasonable?
