Why is he mad at me for drunk texting him “what do you want”?

So the guy I’ve been talking to for a few months got mad at me for drunk texting him. Not because I was drunk, but because I asked him what he wanted, me or not…it was a very open question too which he could have just responded to sexually. Instead, he never answered and I just said guess not me good to know. Then in the morning I got an angry text from him about me not drunk texting him and asking what he wants.. like he was legit mad at me for it. I am totally confused about why he’s mad and if he is mad is it because he cares and wants something?
