If a guy ignores you but checks a lot to see if you've messaged him or read a post he posted what does that mean?

If you were ignoring a girl that you had a thing with in the past, (admittedly I left him hanging sometimes and didn't get back to him when I should and left it for a while) so maybe he's giving me a taste of his own medicine. I think maybe he still has feelings but he has to teach me a lesson. He's posting stuff and he never used to post and he's checking a lot to see if I respond. If you didn't like someone or didn't care would you care to check if they messaged you?

I’m different that way. I do not need to reinvent the wheel as it already is…in same light mutual Behavior patterns are established. I did leave him hanging before and wouldn't get back to him when I said I would. I dont know, I think he's punishing me honestly. It saddens me to think we will never talk again

He's also been posting things the day I message him, he never posts stuff so I don't know if he wanted me to reply to it or miss him or whatever like teasing me
