Is it okay to still talk to other guys after a first date with a guy I’m getting to know?

I have a friend that thinks I should only see, date or speak to one guy at a time because what if another seen us in public or what if he somehow knows someone else that’s talking to me etc

but on the other hand getting to know others helps me not get too overly emotionally invested in the situation with one particular guy, it helps limit the disappointment if they find somewhere else or lose interest

I don't think dating should be limited until you get into a relationship that's defined as monogamous. I feel the same way as your second statement when I'm dating.

Dating is a meat grinder, and often if I date 3 women at a time, I'll find that one wants a ONS, and 2 are really uninterested and killing time. So cycle out, cycle out, find people worth putting time into because they'll do the same for me.

But yeah, until you're actually in a relationship, and it is monogamous, play the field, otherwise you're limiting yourself for no reason at all. Conversely once you get with someone worth your time, who treats you right, cut everyone else off.

I understand the argument for both, but the one in favor for seeing multiple people sounds more like you're being intentionally spiteful. You're approaching it with; "He will dump me, so when he eventually does I can tell him to fuck off to his side chick because I already have another dick to bounce on."

Ultimately, you do you. If you believe in showing some sort of respect towards the other person while the two of you are dating or if you believe that you two are not exclusive. It's all up to you.

It's to do with what you want personally. I'm naturally a person who only focuses on one guy as soon as I get a sense we may turn into something. But, if you want to see others and he hasn't made anything exclusive, then that's fine and it's your decision not your friends.

I just am doing it to protect myself as he hasn’t made it clear he likes me or even has told me a solid plan for our second date so for now I see no harm in getting to know others but if at any point I’m told, they want to take things further then I would lose contact with any other guy. I used to find it hard to focus on more than one person but when I realised a lot of men are focusing on several things changed for me

I think definitely talk to multiple guys but be honest with them about talking to other guys.

Would be ok with a guy doing that like he is scheduled your date from 5pm to 6pm and while you leave he tells you that i have another date at 7:30 pm would you be ok with it as his being honest

The problem with dating multiple guys at a time is you would like someone hair , you could like someone else's face and body and someones courage and character.

It would make it tough to choose and you might end up selecting wrong guy..

Although if i see from my perspective if the girl dating me is seeing someone else at same time for me it would mean she is not that into me so i would also loose interest.

Because i would like to be the girls first choice and not an option honestly

I would be cautious not to get caught on a date with another guy, but until you’re “dating” (multiple dates in) and getting more personal, I don’t think there is any obligation to exclusively.
