Flirty in person, dry over text?

I am beyond confused! This guy I go to church with sends me major mixed signals! We hang out all the time (like 4 days out of the week) in a group setting. He's my brother's best friend. He's into music and so am I. He compliments me a lot regarding my music. He's said that he wants to work together. He offers me help all of the time. He saves me a seat all the time when we all go out for lunch. He stands behind me in all our photos. I catch him looking at me a lot. It seems like he shows off around me (push ups, comments about his height. He's a really nice guy, and SUPER smart. But here's the thing. Every time we text He's not very responsive. He's sent a few of these emojis:😊. And he doesn't reply with one word. But he doesn't keep the convo going. I've seen how he texts everyone else. He's like that with everyone. But still. When I like someone, I want to keep the conversation. It's just confusing because I feel certain he is interested in me in person. But then over the phone He's like that. I'll give you an example of what our text thread was today... I had asked him yesterday if he could send me a picture that he had taken of my brother when he was done editing it. I thought he would forget to send it but then tonight he sent it to me and said... "here's Alex's gangster pic" and I said "Haha Thank you! We need to blow it up onto a poster! 🤣 also, a laptop should work for the midi software right? I tried to download it, but I'm not sure if it worked." He said "yes, a laptop will work for it". And I haven't responded yet. Like I don't know. Mayne I'm reading into it. But it just throws me off alittle. What do you think?

He is definitely into you but like a great number of people (me included), he does not like texting a lot or takes time to answer.

That is not unusual at all and not a reason to worry. I personally abhor to have to type texts on a small keyboard and I find texting so impersonal and does not really convey the same emotions as a conversation can. I am also very stingy when it comes to using emojis because they can be misinterpreted and lack in-depth signification. I use a total of only 3 emojis when writing texts on this site.

Concentrate on what happens when you are physically together and not on what happens over social media or text. Those are very distinctive ways to communicate.
