I don't think this universally true. I would certainly agree that most girls go for a man only a few years older But not all.

A 10 year age is just not that uncommon. About 8% of married couples have an age difference of 10 or more years. That's not insignificant. Asian women see to be more willing to accept an age difference.

I have certainly heard women speak positively of the older man concept (as they termed it). At works Christmas party one of the girls was expressing that to a consultant.
