Is my male friend trying to flirt with me?

I have been friends with him for 3 years. I’m 20 and he’s 23. For the last year or so he’s been acting very different toward me, at first he just seemed like a good friend. But now he compliments me a lot, calls me pet names, sexual jokes, light touching, more intense eye contact etc.. I just thought it was because we were much closer but i am not sure I don’t see him act this way toward our other female friends

Yesterday I asked him if he would pop my back, he stood behind me and then our other friend started to talk to me. He waited for me to be done talking to the friend so he could pop my back, then I feel him press his body against mine from behind. Like his stomach on my back and it felt uncomfortable. He didn’t say sorry or anything it felt intentional. After that I told him I was ready and he popped my back. I mentioned this because it was the weirdest thing lol.. anyway let me know what you guys think? He is flirting with me or just being friendly?

Yes, this is a very worrying behavior and change in the way he perceives you.

This is a total red flag and no go. He is obviously attempting to get your attention and probably much more than just that.

A normal friend would never behave the way he did and that is not good news. You are about to lose a friend because he has stopped seeing you as only a friend. His intentions are very obvious. Thank you for replying! I have always felt he was harmless, but can you clarify him being potential danger? Excuse my English if it’s not very well, but is all of that make him dangerous? When I mention about a potential danger to you, I mean that if you allow him to come so close as you to feel his body against yours just for him to pop your back, that signifies simply that he is attempting to get close to you in an intimate way.

Well we are together almost 24/7.. most of the time we are with a group it’s one on one very rarely and when it is it’s never for long periods of time.. I do like him but I am not interested in him as a partner. I am not sure what to do in this situation
