Why a guy shows signs he is attracted but ignores my texts?

I have known this friend for the past 6 months and soon after we met, he is starting to give signs that he likes me. I ignored the signs and thought that I am overthinking and he is just friendly.
As the days pass, he is giving more and more signs that he might like me, which I reciprocated. He is always fidgety around me and pays attention to me if we are sitting with other friends. He always remember everything I say and lately he has been sitting closer to me and few instances of hand brushing if we are passing something to each other.

The issue that he intentionally ignores my text and few days ago he did the same but came the next day saying sorry he saw the message and ignored it. So I decided to stop giving him any attention and see what he will do, as I am exhausted from interpreting his signs. I noticed that he was confused wth my new behaviour and was trying so hard to get my attention with all sorts of stuff, to the point that I saw him pacing around while were sitting with other friends, stating that he is sick of sitting down.

Any idea what might be going on in this dynamic?

Next time you text him first send him a selfie with a smile on your face. Bonus points if it's a bit spicy (to your comfortable limit). A bit of naked legs or a cleavage would do wonders to his monkey brain. If you're worried he will think of you as frivolous because of spicy selfies you can always accompany them with an innocent question of "What do you think about this outfit? Is it too revealing? Do you like it?".

No hetero man would be able to resist the neural activation from spicy selfies from a girl he likes. He'll reply immediately and will keep replying for the next 12 hours. After 12 hours his brain will forget about the selfie and you'll need to send him a new one.

Yeah, you are placing too much value on texting. Isn't IRL interaction more important? Or do you want a text relationship. He isn't keen on texting, newsflash: most guys hate it. Now you are freezing him out and he has no clue what happened. Because I'm fairly certain you didn't tell him what was bothering you, right? That would make too much sense.

I have been very open and reciprocative with him, but you are right I am putting much emphasis on texts rather than IRL interactions.

We are both extremely shy and we both work in the same place. I am terrified of saying anything then it turns out that everything I am seeing is in my head and he has no interest in me at all.

Ohh your welcome!! If this person is shy try to find out everything you can once you start daten.. I dated a shy guy once that his porn habit broke use up so make sure you learn as much as you can early in the relationship I'd you do date

If he knows you are pursing him by texting, he'll probably ignore and keep you guessing what he is doing. Once he finds out you're not playing that game he worries. It's typical cat and mouse game that both sexes play.

I am sending very irregular texts and mostly are one line texts, not like paragraphs. But I noticed that he is not responsive with me only, compared to our other friends. I am not sure why he is reading it as I am chasing him, but if he is, then as you said once he finds out I am not playing this game, he will start to worry if he is interested.
