I asked him for a closure through texting but he refused and will only do so when we meet?

So me and the guy have been dating for months and I've decided to call the quits recently as he was acting weird by disappearing and showing up like nothing happened out of sudden. The texting has become lesser throughout the last week. When i asked why he seem distant and cold, he just said he got tired of people who don't trust him. He doesn't answer my calls anymore. Long story short, i have major trust issues and will jokingly say that he probably has other gfs.

I texted him if he either lost interest in me or already found someone new, at least tell me so i can move on.

I asked him for a closure through texting because of why he was acting like that but he refused and will only tell me so when we meet.

Why can't he just text when it's easier and a faster way to end it instead of meeting up and say it face-to-face?
