Why would my boyfriend say this? Is he trying to make me jealous?

So I’m home sick and my boyfriend who is really nice to me and has been with me for three years calls and tells me that he’s been on a job at work (he fixes boilers and does plumbing etc) and that some old lady asked him if he was single. He said no but apparently she was telling him all about her granddaughter and then showing him pictures and saying “isn’t she lovely” etc.

Im at home sick and that’s clearly going to upset me.

Why the hell would he say that?

I just said oh maybe she had dementia or something and pointed out that it was rude of her. I didn’t go mad or get angry or anything because I wondered if he was trying to invoke a response.

Some people don’t think before they speak and don’t realize something they are saying is actually causing disrespect to their partners some people think it’s important to tell their partners everything but you have to be careful because it is disrespectful , I was in a relationship with a girl that always talked about other men that she met at work or that she caught checking her out like she was trying to get me jealous oh he is just a friend blah blah blah , so it definitely raised some questions of concern in me , like why all of a sudden is she telling me this shit , I honestly found it to be very disrespectful and thought to myself , what is she trying to gain from this? what is she trying to tell me? If she truly valued and loved me like she said she does , then why is she trying to make me jealous? It leaves a question mark over your head as to why they are saying this shit to you , and yes bottom line it’s disrespectful period , because how would she feel if I was telling her about other Girls that were checking me out or flirting with me at work or wherever that I ran into that showed interest in me? So when a partner can do that to you , it is disrespectful You should already know inside yourself that you are in a committed relationship and you should already know to resist temptation from other people they same way you expect your partner to do for you , sadly it’s a manipulative tactic that insecure people use to try to make their partners jealous so they can play innocent and that you are just insecure and don’t trust them , The truth is they are the ones that are up to no good , My ex that pulled this shit with me was secretly screwing one of her co workers trying to play me as a fool , by trying to make me jealous by talking about these other guys all of a sudden. , she started getting distant from me and started pointing fingers at me that I am insecure and don’t trust her. But My gut instincts knew something was off , as to why all of a sudden is she telling me about these other guys , it’s because it was her way of trying to make me jealous and manipulate me making me this insecure jealous person so she could play a victim knowing really she was the one being the piece of shit , because I busted her banging one of her co workers , so if your boyfriend honestly respected you and valued you he wouldn’t be trying to get you jealous of this so called other girl , he is trying to play a victim because he knows he is being a piece of shit , if he starts getting distant from you and starts making excuses and pointing fingers at you that you are exude and don’t trust him, kick his ass to the curb , don’t fall for that bullshit
