I asked my boyfriend a silly question and he replied with a question of his own but now I feel insecure, should I?

I asked my boyfriend (of 1month) if he would let me have sex with his mate, if it meant his life. We were just playing a silly questions game.

He said 'yep cause I know you wouldn't enjoy it anyway' and I said 'of course I wouldn't enjoy it'.

Then my boyfriend asked 'would you let me have sex with my ex girlfriend (who he was just in a relationship with 4months ago) if it meant your life'.

I said 'yeah but then I'd break up with you' and he said 'come on, how it that fair? I 'probably' wouldn't enjoy it anyway'.

Now. I think it's very unfair that I asked about sex with a mate of his but he jumped straight to asking about sex with his ex girlfriend. I think it's also worrying that he said he 'probably' wouldn't enjoy it, instead of 'definitely' wouldn't enjoy it.

Am I overthinking this? I'm seriously thinking he still has feelings for his ex and that I should dump his ass!

He probably would enjoy it because its his ex, clearly he liked her at one point. That's why he said "probably", he didn't want to lie and say he wouldn't enjoy it, but didn't want to hurt you and say he would enjoy it. Doesn't mean he doesn't want to be with you. Also very reasonable he still has feelings for her based off this, but doesn't mean he doesn't want to move on.
What's crazy to me is you brought this up (in a 1 month old relationship like girl what) and want to break up with him solely off of this. It's so little to judge on. He could've just said that because after you asked that, he felt safe to ask something similar of you, or you hurt him a bit and he retaliated, or he just didn't think and in effort to keep within a topic came up with that.
Doesn't really matter if he has feelings for his ex or not. If he's making an effort to be with you and not her, he wants to be with you. That's really all that matters.
