Do you find odd a guy in his 40`s still is single and not even have kids?

I mean I dont know if this is something that society is to blame for or the way human being were raised.

I had heard alreayd several people saying that for them seeing a guy in his 40`s or even mid 40`s still single, no attached, no kids no married is odd. Because soem of those people (not all) believe the guy must be homosexual, and even more odd if that guy is good looking because how come a guy good looking can score a lady or at least be married, cause guys at that age are already attached with kids or at least divorced.

I was discussing with soem people abotu a particular an attractive male actor who is 42 he had had some relationships in his past and currently he is single, he is 42, and public does nto even know if he is seeing someone or not cause he is very private, but since the actor is quirky and dress a bit odd, colorful colors, some say he dresses effeminate and the guy is not married or have kids public assume he must be gay then, really?

The same applies if a woman is the same specially if she is in her mid 40 or early 50. Current times are different from years ago.

Not at all, I was married young, and divorced, so I had my "second childhood" once I was single again.
I never had the drive to be a dad, I was able to come and go as I pleased, traveled a lot on my motorcycle, all 48 lower states, Canada, Mexico & Hawaii, got involved in racing, had a lot of friends, meet a crap ton of people, just was having a lot of fun.
I didn't have to worry about what I bought, where or on what I spent my money on.
Eventually I got married again to the right person.
She is independent, can function just fine with my work schedule, and working out of town a lot.
We do a lot of things together yet are just fine with doing things apart from each other.

I want to say no but as i get older and remain single, i can't help but think that i appear odd or unworthy. But in all honesty, i been passive with relationships since my past ones went sour. At the same time, i’m caught up being too selfish to do enough to be a high value man, so i take full accountability. And my last excuse is in this social media era. Well my ambition at 40 is still to have all my own assets and since 70-80% of divorces are initiated by the female after 8 years I'm not buying into that deal.

Nor do I want to buy into a child support agreements.

So I will be 40 in due course, single and picking up girls as I can.

Some might be gay - sounds like that actor is. The stats are if a guy is over 40 there is only a 15% chance he will ever marry.

I can assure you there is a 0% chance I will ever marry and possibly guys over 40 have the same attitude.

I'm good looking, larger than average downstairs, never been married, never had kids, a virgin, intelligent, talented, and straight, and sometimes I wear colorful clothing.

I don't ever want to have kids.

I do want to get married, but most women are boring, talentless, and dumb, and very few of them don't want kids.

Its very hard to find an attractive atheist woman who likes science, sci-fi, fantasy, anime, cosplay, technology, wildlife, and is is good at video games and drawing, and isn't afraid of bugs, spiders, snakes, etc. And also does not drink alcohol, smoke, or do any other drugs.

Everytime I find a girl like that, she's a professional cosplayer, or e-girl, or youtuber, or just outside of the united states.

Being single, unmarried, and having no kids does not mean a guy is gay, it can mean a lot of things, but most often it means he's picky.

When a guys spend time learning and understanding emotions and relationship, it is because they had fall in love with someone, want to get regular sex partner, a playboy, or someone looking to settle down, etc... Else most of the time a guys spend is looking for technical skills and knowledge, entertainments, sports, etc... With so much distraction, guys just need so much time to learn and earn. Well and of course time is on a guy's side compared to a girl.

I don't really understand girl, but I expect a girl spend 80% of their time learning and understanding emotions and relationship at a young age.

I am that guy. 42, no kids, could model. I was always family orientated but my life did not work out like that. I was raised by a single mother that couldn't read or write; my other 2 siblings got out as fast as they could & I been the parent since 12. I moved out for a short 2 years until my mom had a breakdown, fiancé left me over this & I been taking care of her the past 23 years since. I've not bothered to date at all. I don't receive any income for taking care of her, I'm on my own & what little I do make gets invested in home. My Mom now has dementia & will likely have to go to a nursing home soon. When you love someone, you do not drag them into a bad situation like this.

No not at all. I know some who are and they do not care what society tells them to do but enjoy their life. One guy I know is now in his 60s, was a professional musician and kids music teacher, though he has no kids and never had a girlfriend but he is happy.

Nope. Because I'm in my 40's and single and I know the reasons I'm single. I'm not opposed to marriage but marriage to me is a sacred institution. I'm not going to do it unless I intend on it being forever. Most people today are not capable of a decade let alone forever.
