Why do people start conversations with everyone but me?

For instance when I started my new job no one would approach me and introduce himself to me like they did to other new hires. I don’t want to sound entitled, I’m just trying to understand why I’m treated differently to everyone else. This has happened my entire life

I have had the same problem. But for me, it seems like I’m unapproachable and have been told numerous times by numerous people I look like I’m ready to stab someone. If you want to know why people do this, ask someone who does talk to you. The only way I knew I have an unapproachable demeanor is because someone random guy who decided to strike up a conversation at the gym with me told me my face looks like I’m “ready to stab someone”

Maybe, you don’t belong where everyone else is and give a vibe like you don’t belong there. I never fit in at any job I’ve ever had and was regularly excluded for whole conversations and get togethers simply because they were there as a work family and I was just there to pay rent and was scrolling through indeed. com on my shifts.

Because at my job I don’t really care about work ethics or conforming. My coworkers will literally plan an entire gathering in front of me and not invite me. It used to bother me but now I’m glad I don’t fit in. Why would I want to?
