Why do some guys initiate text messages then ignore when you reply or take ages to reply?

A couple of guys initiate the contact like 80% of the time then don’t reply or take ages to reply … why initiate in the first place if you don’t want to talk?

Because most girls’ just assume it’s a guy’s job to initiate contact first , instead of her initiating contact at all , that’s where most Girls’s are wrong. When a girl doesn’t initiate contact after he initiated contact with her first , he assumes she isn’t interested in him and thinks to himself she is probably interested in someone else, so he won’t bother her anymore, because he feels she doesn’t like him back the same , When someone really likes you , they give the same effort they receive from you vice versa , it needs to go both ways or it won’t work period , For whatever reason most people just assume the worst case scenarios and think to themselves oh I won’t call her because I don’t want her thinking I am coming on to strong or that I am just desperate , so I will wait for her to contact me , Sadly that’s how most people think and it’s a stupid way of thinking , if you really like someone , go for it , don’t wait for an invitation , if he contacts you first , contact him the next day to let him know you are thinking of humans well , don’t wait for him to contact you again , because he might think you really aren’t interested in him. So it’s ok for you to reach back to him , it will give him hope that you are interested in him as well , we aren’t mind readers and we don’t walk around with signs flashing above our heads saying what we are
Into or what are current relationship status is or if we are already interested in someone else , So again that’s why most people shouldn’t just assume things , if you like someone go for it

I'm texting you because I have a moment and I was thinking about you. That doesn't mean I have time for a full blown conversation. I'm very busy. The whole point of a conversation through text is the luxury of being able to respond whenever. It's chess, not hockey. Before the internet people would play chess long distance by mailing their move to their partner who would copy it on the board they had at their house, and mail back their move in response. If I had nothing better to do all day than sit around and text you then you'd have no interest in me to begin with.
