Why would a guy and his friend stalk a girl they are not in contact with?

I used to crush on one of them and he found out. He never tries to engage with me but keeps running into me in the street I live in and lately even at my workplace even though he is not employed there. We don’t have mutual friends so how do they track me down and why do they both do it?
