What does it mean when a man is vulnerable around me?

I've only been talking to this guy for two weeks. He's my crush and he messaged me immediately after breaking up with his girlfriend and he wants to meet me just as more side information. He sends me lengthy texts always and so do I. He told me very personal things, including how his ex hurt him and how she was mentally abusive. Stuff guys usually don't talk about I feel like? I cherish that a lot but I fear he may just see me as a friend?

If he's being honest, then it at the very least means he's giving you a chance. For someone mentally abused to do that means they at least think you could be a fine person. If you want more than a friendship with him and if he's not some monster putting on an act, then giving him time, avoiding pushiness and encouraging him with honest compliments would be a great method.

Even so, he may prefer to be alone, but would at least have had fine conversations. Perhaps you would as well.

He said we should meet up in two weeks, he's suggested a location (a lost place because that's one of our mutual interests) but no exact date is set yet. I've seen him at two concerts and both times he stood around me a lot, that was before he messaged me

You must disagree that I didn’t know why you think men are generally so closed off. Being vulnerable and open means he’s comfortable with you but it doesn’t have to mean more. Yes it could but in a general way not really.
